Kings of Convenience
I like to share music that I’m personally listening to so I compiled a list of songs from three different albums created by this Norwegian Band named Kings of Convenience. Those three albums are Versus, Riot on an Empty Street, and Declaration of Dependence.
If you enjoy chilled out early morning wake up songs with smooth guitar riffs, piano keys piercing through the fog, and a dash of violin loveliness then I just found what you’ve been searching for.
MEGAUPLOAD">MEGAUPLOAD <—- This is where you download the sampler
Track list:
1. Boat Behind
2. Freedom and It’s Owner
3. Gold for the Price of Silver ( Erot Collaboration)
4. I don’t know what I can save you from (Royksopp Remix)
5. I’d rather dance with you
6. Leaning Against the Wall (Evil Tordivel Remake)
7. Live Long
8. Misread
9. Peacetime Resistance
10. Scars On the Land
11. The Girl From Back Then (Riton Remix)
12. The Weight of my Worlds (Four Tet Remix - Instrumental)

Logged into FB and an old friend/former co worker found me. Little did I know Miles is about to graduate for a degree in illustration/animation. Mr Dulay is going to be a concept/visual development artist. He’s extremely talented and his stuff is definitely worth a peep.

Sorry about the long absence

*I've been real busy lately and haven't been around to really update the blog. Me or hopefully someone else will be back around soon to post the cool stuff we see around the net.*
Anyway today I was over at Giant Robot on Haight and stumbled into their art gallery featuring an artist named Rob Sato.
Check out some of his work at his official website.
It's some really trippy and impressive stuff.

Mavericks Surf Contest Live Stream

*UPDATE* Looks like the contest is over and about fifteen bystanders were swept onto the beach by huge waves exploding off the point. Broken bones and random injuries were the result of said waves, but thankfully no one is missing after this powerful display of nature.
As you all sleep the Mavericks surf contest is exploding over in Half moon bay. The waves are supposed to be the largest they've ever been and thankfully one of the news broadcaster located in the bay area are streaming it live. Just get on over to the site below before 1pm today (Saturday) and you'll get to see some awesome stuff.

Junkan (Tokyo 2 Osaka Mini Film) Via Good Magazine
Good Magazine ran a feature on Tokyo 2 Osaka. You remember Tokyo2Osaka right? Well we've been following it for a while and a friend of mine is in the film. He told us it was coming out soon and a new trailer would hit any day now.
Unknowing to us it was a full on short version of the feature film. It's basically a must watch for anyone who says they like bikes, adventures, or Japan. Don't miss it and stay up to date with the tokyo2osaka site for details on upcoming screenings and locations.
Thanks to SWEETBREAMS for the tip

Do What You Love, And Fuck The Rest..

I might have to stop doing these. I think all these blog features are starting to get a little out of hand. It seems like nowadays everywhere I turn everyone and their moms have a blog about something, but I mean hey we all need to feel like we're important somehow right? With that said I'd like to introduce my good friend Alex Dale Kato. Now that all of you people of the internet have been introduced I suggest you do the polite thing and get to know Kato a little bit. Check out his blog see what he's about and in time I'm sure you guys will become close friends. I mean if you find my posts even remotely interesting then I'm sure you and Kato will have a blast talking about yo-yos and skateboarding and clothing and retractable backscratchers.
For those of you who don't know that the bright blue highlighted words are links here you go all nice and obvious for you: http://squarebearshares.tumblr.com/

The Bathroom Reinvented / NYC / SF
Part 1 of a doc on public bathrooms and how they are slowly being reinvented. You're probably thinking "bathrooms? why do I want to watch a video on bathrooms?". Well don't knock it before you watch it. Trust
Codehunters
A short film directed by Ben Hibons under axis animation for MTV Asia. This is the entire short and it's absolutely fantastic. It may seem rather shallow since it's mostly action scenes, but try to immerse yourself in this world and figure out what's going on. That's how I got sucked in and I'm sure you will too.
Old Fangs (Sundance Film Festival Entry)
This short story is about an adolescent wolf who hasn't seen his father for a long time venture back to where he was raised to try and reconnect.
It's trippy, fantastic, and mesmerizing. However make sure you watch it in silence as the sound and ambiance plays a major role in the atmosphere the director probably spent countless hours trying to create.

Little Kids Suck
After I got back from a ride today I fell upon this little video of some folk surfing around Hawaii. At first I thought to myself okay these guys are good. Then I noticed that they were children. Some looked to be too young to have even earned the title of teenager.
Upon that discovery my little mouse cursor was on that close button faster then Russel Crowe shot those dudes in 3:10 to Yuma. However right before I pressed down on the key I stopped and decided to just finish it. I continued to watch and was blown away. These kids were immensely talented and to be honest I was envious that I wasn't doing the same things they were doing at their age.
After a little thought I realized that the older generation will always despise the younger generation for one reason or another. It happened to us, it's gonna happen to them. The reason why is because with each generation things change for better or for worse and for whatever reason the young ones don't listen to the older ones because they feel the older gen doesn't understand them.
Hayao Miyazaki expressed his opinion (I'm gonna paraphrase here) that the move from generation to generation is like a relay race. Each generation holds the baton for a time, makes it theirs then passes it on to the next generation. That generation takes the baton for what it is, personalizes it then passes it on to the next one. It's a constant cycle and it's sad that us guys and gals that just ran the circle will be ignored by the ones we just handed the baton to when we try to warn them about that bump on the track.
